Detailed Design for Dehradun Ring Road, India
The 4-lane Dehradun Ring Road is planned as a peripheral highway around Dehradun to divert through-traffic away from the city core, reduce congestion and improve connectivity with surrounding towns and national corridors in Uttarakhand. Designed as a standard 4-lane facility with provision for future capacity enhancement, it supports Dehradun’s role as a key administrative, educational and tourism hub by shortening cross-city travel time and easing pressure on existing urban roads.
In the Dehradun Ring Road DPR, MSV International Inc. would handle traffic surveys and forecasting, corridor and alignment planning, detailed engineering (pavement, geometry, junctions, bridges and culverts) and road safety design. MSV would also handle environmental and social impact assessments, cost estimates, economic viability analysis and preparation of bid-ready drawings, technical specifications and tender documents so the implementing authority can move smoothly to procurement and construction.
The project would facilitate Urban decongestion, reduce pollution and travel delays within Dehradun.
It will also significantly improve connectivity between Dehradun, surrounding towns and the Delhi–Dehradun economic corridor, boosting tourism and trade in the region. With road safety as a top priority, the design will emphasize controlled intersections and optimized road geometry to reduce crash risk on high-traffic approaches.
