4-Laning of Godhra to Gujarat–Madhya Pradesh Border Section of NH-59
Project have received national recognition. At the National Highways Excellence Awards (NHEA) 2021, instituted by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), the project was honoured with the “Excellence in Operation & Maintenance-Rigid Pavement (Silver Award)”.
As an Independent Engineer during the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) phase of Godhra to Gujarat/Madhya Pradesh Border section of NH-59 , MSV provides independent and impartial technical oversight to ensure sustained compliance with contractual obligations, prescribed technical specifications and service-level benchmarks in accordance with MoRTH/NHAI frameworks.
MSV’s scope encompasses monitoring of routine and periodic maintenance activities, assessment of pavement performance, shoulders, drainage systems, road furniture and signage, review of rehabilitation and renewal plans, oversight of safety and toll operations where applicable and certification of performance milestones.
The project involves the four-laning of NH-59 from Godhra to the Gujarat/Madhya Pradesh Border, developed under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase-III. The highway covers a total length of approximately 86.6 km, extending from Km 129.300 to Km 215.900 and has been implemented on a DBFOT (Design, Build, Finance, Operate & Transfer) basis. This strategically important corridor significantly enhances interstate connectivity, facilitates efficient movement of freight and passenger traffic, and supports economic activity between Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
The project reflects the effectiveness of a well-structured DBFOT framework supported by robust Independent Engineer oversight. Through systematic monitoring and performance-based evaluation, the highway has consistently delivered high standards of safety, ride quality and reliability, contributing to an improved road user experience and long-term sustainability of this vital national highway corridor.
This award is part of the MoRTH’s National Highways Excellence Awards programme, which recognises excellence across projects in categories including construction, project management, operation & maintenance, toll management, safety and green highways with the aim of incentivising best practices in highway infrastructure development and upkeep across India.
