MSV International Inc. is engaged as the Authority’s Engineer for the New Broad Gauge (BG) Line from Borvihir to Nardana under the Bhusawal Division of Central Railway. The project involves construction of a 49.45 km new rail corridor between the existing Borvihir station on the Dhule–Chalisgaon section and Nardana station on the Surat–Jalgaon section, providing a strategic rail link without the need to travel via Jalgaon.
The scope of work includes extensive earthwork, construction of 1 important bridge, 24 major bridges, 39 minor bridges, 3 road overbridges (ROBs) and 44 road underbridges (RUBs), along with six stations, comprising two existing stations (Borvihir and Nardana) and four new stations (New Dhule, Nimkhedi, Kapadne and Songir). The project also includes track laying and associated civil works. The new line is designed for a maximum speed of 110 km/h with an axle load of 25 tonnes, enhancing both passenger and freight handling capacity.

The scope includes project planning, support during land acquisition, review of alignment and surveys, scrutiny and approval of designs and drawings in accordance with Indian Railways Codes and RDSO guidelines, and day-to-day supervision of civil, track and bridge works. MSV also ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, facilitates coordination among key stakeholders, certifies measurements and bills, evaluates variations and time extension proposals, oversees utility shifting, and reviews Quality Assurance Plans (QAP).
Project Aim and Impact
The Borvihir–Nardana New BG Line is a strategically important rail infrastructure project aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and driving socio-economic development in North Maharashtra. The new corridor provides direct and efficient rail access to Nardana and the rapidly developing Nardana MIDC, enabling industries to benefit from faster, cost-effective and reliable logistics for commodities such as cotton, textiles, agricultural produce, FMCG goods and other industrial cargo.
By offering a shorter and alternative rail route, the project reduces dependence on road transport, improves passenger mobility, and helps decongest nearby saturated railway sections, thereby enhancing overall operational efficiency for Central Railway. Designed with future scalability in mind, the line offers potential for doubling and electrification in alignment with national infrastructure initiatives such as PM Gati Shakti. The project also acts as a catalyst for regional growth by improving rural–urban connectivity, generating employment opportunities, and strengthening market access for local communities, supporting balanced and sustainable development across the region.
