Project Description
MSV International Inc. is engaged as the Authority’s Engineer (AE) for providing Supervision Consultancy Services for Package-3 of a major highway development programme in the state of Maharashtra, implemented on EPC mode for the Public Works Department (PWD), Maharashtra. The project involves development and upgradation of a 261.71 km highway corridor, forming a critical part of the state’s arterial road network and catering to significant passenger and freight traffic.
The corridor is designed to improve road capacity, riding quality and safety, while strengthening connectivity between key urban centres, industrial zones, agricultural regions and logistics hubs across the Konkan and adjoining regions.
MSV’s Role
As the Authority’s Engineer, MSV acts as the technical representative of the Client, providing independent oversight to ensure execution of works in accordance with approved designs, contract conditions, technical specifications and applicable standards.
Scope of Services
MSV’s scope includes review and approval of engineering designs and drawings; supervision of civil, pavement, structural, drainage, junction improvement and road safety works; monitoring construction quality, materials and workmanship; review of construction methodology and progress; enforcement of traffic management, safety and environmental compliance; certification of measurements, milestones and payments; evaluation of variations and time extension proposals; review of Quality Assurance Plans (QAP); and coordination with the Client, EPC contractors and utility agencies for effective project delivery.
Project Importance and Impact
The project significantly enhances regional connectivity and transport efficiency in Maharashtra by delivering a safer, faster and more reliable highway corridor. The upgraded infrastructure supports movement of agricultural produce, industrial goods and commercial traffic, reduces travel time and vehicle operating costs, and improves road safety. The corridor contributes to decongestion of existing routes, promotes regional economic growth and improves accessibility for rural and urban communities alike.
The project aligns with the State’s infrastructure development initiatives and national programmes such as PM Gati Shakti, supporting long-term economic growth, logistics efficiency and sustainable development.
