As one of Southern India’s most important mobility corridors, thisexpressway connects two major urban centres, Bangalore and Mysore, playing a vitalrole in daily commuter movement, tourism and economic integration.
Arguably the most prestigious project in Southern India as the upgraded expressway was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on 12 March 2023 under the Government of India’s flagship ‘Bharatmala Pariyojna’.
MSV’s responsibilities as Independent Engineer included the review and validation of engineering designs and service road integration, comprehensive construction supervision, quality assurance and quality control and continuous monitoring of safety, environmental and contractual compliance.
The project stands out for transforming an existing high-traffic corridor into a modern, access-controlled expressway equipped with improved geometric design, safety features and seamless service road integration. Its meticulous engineering, enhanced lane capacity and upgraded traffic management systems make it a future-ready corridor supporting high-speed, secure and reliable travel.
The upgraded expressway significantly reduces travel time between Bangalore and Mysore, easing congestion and improving the daily commute for thousands of travellers. It strengthens regional connectivity, supports economic development, boosts tourism to Mysore and nearby destinations, and enhances freight movement across Karnataka, ultimately contributing to faster growth and improved quality of life for communities along the corridor.
