Delhi-Dehradun Expressway-Single tube tunnel 340 meter

MSV International Inc. has done Preparation of Detailed Project Report for development of Economic Corridors, Inter Corridors, Feeder Routes and Border to improve the efficiency of freight movement in India under Bharatmala Pariyojana (Lot-7/Package-5) from Delhi (crossing of EPE) – Saharanpur Bypass and spur to Dehradun. (Length – 138 km). In preparing the DPR of this project, MSV has proposed and designed a single tube tunnel having a width of 15.04 m, which includes concrete lining of 400 mm, footpath cum utility corridor of 1620 mm and carriageway of 5500 mm for LHS and similarly concrete lining of 400 mm, footpath cum utility corridor of 1620 mm and carriageway of 5500 mm for RHS. The tunnel also includes provisions for longitudinal tunnel drain, surface water drain, railings between carriageway and footpath, booster fans, traffic signs, water proofing membrane and tunnel luminaire. The length of proposed tunnel is 340 m and the height of excavation for this proposed tunnel is 12.246 m. This tunnel will be very effective in traffic movement as it will save considerable time of road user as well as it will ensure road user safety. The proposed tunnel passes through the forest area of that highway alignment which helps in maintaining the natural ecosystem of that area.
