HP SHIVA PRF Project, Himachal Pradesh, India
Himachal Pradesh’s flagship project, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), supports 17 irrigation schemes with innovative water extraction, distribution, storage tech, climate/disaster resilience, and Water User Associations (WUAs) including women’s participation; it pilots subtropical horticulture models for scaling under the main loan. Covers irrigation civil/electro-mechanical works across Packages CW-1 to CW-4, including headworks, storage tanks, pump houses, HDPE systems, solar power, sedimentation tanks, and channels for 16 schemes.
Oversaw construction supervision, technical appraisal, and design review for major irrigation and electro-mechanical works, including surveys, quality checks, EHS compliance, contractor monitoring, inspections, material certification, WUA training, and defect liability checks.
Enhances water security and resilience in hilly terrains via cutting-edge tech and community-led WUAs, uniquely integrating women’s roles and horticulture pilots to boost agri-productivity and disaster preparedness.
