Govt. of India has launched the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission as a reform driven, fast track program to ensure planned development of identified cities with focus on efficiency in Urban infrastructure/ service delivery mechanics and through community participation and enhanced accountability of ULBs/ parastatal agencies towards citizens. The Sub- Mission will cover core urban services in sub sector including Storm Drainage, Water Supply, sewerage & Sanitation, solid waste management, conservation of water bodies, roads, urban transport systems, urban renewal, heritage conservation, Schools, Community Centers, Markets, Slum Reduction and Horticulture.

Consultant, has been appointed as Independent Review and Monitoring Agency (IRMA) by the state of Chhatisgarh to cover all JNNURM projects sanctioned by Ministry of Urban Development (MOUD) under Sub Mission-1 (Urban Infrastructure and Governance) for monitoring actives during all stages of the project namely Pre-Construction Stage, Construction Stage, Commissioning Trial Run and Testing Stage, Post construction stage.
