Detailed Engineering Design and Construction Assistance Services for Conversion of Delhi-Gurgaon Section of NH-8 into an access controlled 8/6 lane highway from Km 14.30 to Km 42.00 on BOT basis, Length- 28 Kms, India

A multimillion-Rupee fast track Design/Construction supervision Project for Conversion of Delhi Gurgaon Section of NH-8 into an Access Controlled Eight/Six Lane Expressway with service lanes along certain sections and strengthening and widening of the existing lanes from Km 14.30 to Km 42.00 falling partly in Delhi and partly in Haryana. The project is part of the Golden Quadrilateral, which links the four Metropolitan cities of India. The NH-8 links Delhi with Mumbai. The project road is experiencing 1.45 lac PCUs per day and is thus a fit case for widening as the existing 6/4-lane road is of low capacity for this high intensity traffic. The objective is to enhance the carrying capacity of the road and provide a smooth and uninterrupted traffic flow of high speed by grade separating the intersections, doing away with signals and controlling access. The project is developed on a build, operate and transfer basis and the Concessionaire for the project is Jaypee DSC Ventures Limited working for the National Highways Authority of India. There are 9 flyovers and 3 underpasses on the project stretch. The total length of elevated roadway (flyovers) adds to of 8.4 kms. The project faces many challenges just to mention a few the tight schedule; the project is to be completed in 24 months with 6 months for design and 18 months for construction. The other challenge is unimpeded flow of traffic during construction. Many VIP’s travel the route so the security measures have to be in place throughout the construction period. Some of the bridges is:

It is a multimillion-Rupee, fast track, probably the largest road design project in India. There are 3 national highways no. 33, 75, 23 which pass through Ranchi town, the intensity of traffic has increased significantly on these & also within Ranchi town and as such there is requirement of augmentation capacity for safe and efficient movement of traffic. The project involves development of a 6-lane Ring Road around Ranchi town to cater for this traffic. The total project length is approx 120 kms, 40 kms of these are existing roads that can be utilized as the proposed alignment and the remaining 80 kms are on a new alignment. It consists of 9 Major bridges, 31 Minor bridges, 3 ROB’s, 1 RUB, 7 flyovers/interchanges, 8 Elevated Cross roads and 26 Underpasses. The proposed superstructure types for Bridges are PSC box, PSC Voided slab, RCC solid slab, RCC beam and slab, for ROB- PSC solid slabs, for flyovers/interchanges- PSC box, PSC Voided slab, RCC solid slab, RCC beam and slab. Economic analysis will be carried to check its viability on a build, operate and transfer basis. It is a very challenging project one of the challenges on the project is the tight schedule; the project is to be completed in 15 months with 3 months for design and 12 months for construction. The other challenge is finalization of the alignment in quick time as the terrain is rolling and there are many river/river tributaries crossing the alignment. Some of the bridges are:
